Following the intensive historical scouting in Austria, our European journey took a momentary, yet vital, shift towards strategic networking and personal connection in Budapest, Hungary.

While this stop offered a chance for a brief, much-needed break and time with friends and family, it was far from purely downtime. We leveraged this pivot to strengthen essential ties within the Hungarian production ecosystem:
- Industry Connections: We conducted productive meetings with members of the vibrant Hungarian film industry. Budapest is a major European filming hub, and these discussions were crucial for exploring new avenues for production services, crew sourcing, and potential co-production agreements in Eastern Europe.
- Deepening Networks: Cultivating strong international relationships—both personal and professional—is fundamental to JMA Films’ global strategy. This time allowed us to reinforce the trust and human connections that underpin successful, long-term international ventures.

Our European scouting tour rolled east from Germany and landed in the breathtaking city of Salzburg, Austria—a UNESCO World Heritage site known as the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

This leg of the journey was less about raw industrial backdrops and more about securing locations steeped in powerful history and cinematic atmosphere for our narrative-driven documentaries and period projects.

The Fortified View: Hohensalzburg

Towering over the city, the majestic Hohensalzburg Fortress provides a unique and imposing medieval backdrop. As one of Europe’s largest fully preserved castles, the fortress offers:
- Epic Scale: Its ramparts, courtyards, and staterooms offer unparalleled, authentic settings for period pieces and dramatic reenactments.
- Visionary Panoramas: The fortress provides sweeping views of the Baroque old town and the surrounding Alps, offering invaluable ‘establishing shots’ that instantly convey scale and European grandeur for any project.
The Soul of Music: Mozart’s Salzburg

Naturally, Salzburg’s identity is inseparable from its most famous son, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This cultural wealth offers a treasure trove of authentic locations for musical, biographical, and historical projects:
- The Birthplace: Scouting the original locations, from his childhood home in the Getreidegasse to the Salzburg Cathedral where he was baptised, gives us direct access to the architectural and cultural environment that shaped the genius.
- The Creative Legacy: The entire city is an open-air stage, resonating with a musical legacy that will allow us to create rich, emotionally resonant content that transcends borders.
Our time in Salzburg has yielded incredible visual assets, and we are thrilled with the potential for new high-calibre international productions.

Also, we had to learn, there are NO Kangaroos in Austria…

We’re currently in the exciting phase of location scouting to find the perfect backdrop that screams action and adventure. Think epic, rugged beauty—we are searching for locations that capture the high-octane, unforgettable spirit of a Mad Max experience.

Our hunt includes scouting for:
- Turbulent Waters: Areas with dynamic waves and a dramatic skyline for those cinematic wide shots.
