Mission Accomplished: Over 7,000 km of Sustainable Scouting in Europe

The JMA Films European Location Scouting Tour has officially concluded! After more than one month crisscrossing the continent, the team is preparing to return to our Hong Kong and Australian bases with a stunning archive of visual data, logistical plans, and permits from some of Europe’s most iconic locations.

The Scope: From Florence to Paris

This extensive journey covered a diverse geographical and historical spectrum, building a comprehensive profile for our next production phase:

  • Italian Grandeur: Establishing the contrasts between the Renaissance power of Florence (Uffizi, Galileo Museum) and the Pisan Romanesque of Pisa.
  • The Ligurian Pivot: Moving to the vertical, ancient, and colourful resistance of the Cinque Terre villages.
  • Modernity & Monarchy: Transitioning to the high-stakes luxury of Monaco (F1, modern architecture) and the profound historical weight of Versailles (Louis, Napoleon, Trianon Treaty).
  • The French Heart: Capturing the historical defiance of Orléans and its modern solidarity, and concluding with the ultimate cinematic versatility of Paris (Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Montmartre).

Sustainable Commitment: 7,000+ Kilometres on Electric Power

We are proud to report that this entire overland scouting mission, spanning thousands of kilometres across multiple borders, was executed with a firm commitment to our sustainable production goals.

The team drove a total of more than 7,000 km powered entirely by a Tesla.

This achievement underscores our commitment to minimizing our carbon footprint in every stage of production. By prioritizing electric travel for this lengthy trip, we were able to focus on high-quality scouting while adhering to the environmental responsibilities central to the JMA Films mandate.

The breadth of locations now secured—from ancient terraces and medieval streets to modern skyscrapers and world-defining historical sites—combined with our sustainable travel approach, ensures our upcoming project will be both visually rich and ethically responsible.

We look forward to sharing our next steps as we move into pre-production.
